Just a quick update to let you know that I have shelved
World United Music indefinitely. If I’m able to bring some serious attention to
this project in the future, I will certainly return more determined to make a
difference because that’s what World United Music has always been about. For
the time being, I will be working at World United News where the information
demand requires my full attention. I leave music fans with a ton of great music
and hope it has helped some of the artists I’ve supported over the past six
years. ~ Stewart Brennan

There isn’t a more fitting way to announce your band to the
Punk Rock scene than with a song called “Clash”, an energetic attitude fitting
of praise. ~ Stewart Brennan, World United Music
Rock n’ Roll is back! Born out of a late-night car wreck and
formed on the streets of Boston by Shaun Soho (lead vocals), Bo (bass guitar),
and Alex Donaldson (lead guitar), CRASH MIDNIGHT has burst onto the music scene
with vintage guitar riffs, pounding drums, and searing vocals. A collision of
classic 70′s festival rock with a punk swagger, their trademark sound is
packing clubs and turning heads. With their exploding following and high-energy
stage show, CRASH MIDNIGHT performs with all the reckless abandon of a runaway
freight train and is poised to carry the torch for a whole new generation of
Rock n’ Roll.
The Gorlons are an exciting band out of Springfield Missouri
that have broken the waters and birthed a new 21st century rock that
blends rock n roll, punk, psychedelic, progressive rock, garage rock, and New
Wave into one harmonious blend of what can only be termed as “Eschaton Rock”.
Their debut self titled album “The Gorlons” is filled with awe inspiring sounds
that time warps the listener into the future as well as the past in the same
moment...like a tempest in a tea cup "The Gorlons" are here…welcome to the future of rock n roll! ~ World United Music
"I haven't forgotten my love for garage rock in my
latest renewed fervor for post-rock. Doubt most anything could diminish it, and
just to reinforce that sentiment I'm sharing one of the best garage rock albums
we've been sent in months. The Gorlons hail from Springfield, MO and they've
got a brings me straight back to the days before I even wrote this blog and was
a dumb kid looking through the CDs at the public library trying to find
anything and everything lo-fi. It shares many of my favorite qualities of the
Hentchmen or the long-ago-posted Different Skeletons, as in from the simplicity
of the music that can make something incredibly full and dynamic through fuzzy
guitar, organs and singing that I find just inside the realm of intelligible
without going overboard like modern radio hits. The band, as garage goes, has a
heavy retro streak in it as it does remind me of earlier revival bands a
remarkable catchiness like The Flamin' Groovies, but of course louder and
speedier. I'd say this is produced with a skill that exceeds either of those
groups, as least as for a debut when it comes to the Hentchmen. A most
excellent driving around album, and in particular I find makes a band much more
enjoyable to re-listen to, even more so if heard while you slide your old
Caprice around on black ice driving to work at 3:30am like I did. I really must
recommend "Rollercoaster" and "Dirty" as two of the neatest
songs I have had the pleasure to review on here for a bit, yet the whole album
is solid. They've posted the album for free listening on youtube, but should
you like to support them and own a copy they're selling it on bandcamp." -

"These dudes can write a little something called SONGS.
It’s evident from their self-titled debut. Clocking in at just under 35
minutes, it’s not much of a mystery that these dudes don’t do “slow” too often.
The album is made up of attitude-heavy riffs, head-nodding beats, and fuzzed
tones, all while laced with a decent coat of psychedelic organ melodies. Shake
all that up and throw it in the same room and I’d imagine that the inevitable
explosion would result in the Gorlons. That’s not to say that they don’t do
slow songs too though; the third track “Head Cage” sounds like audio codeine
and just like regular codeine, it fucking rules. The whole thing is available on
the band’s bandcamp right now. You can give it a listen, download it, or pick
up a CD/cassette below. Have at it, kids.
Oh, one last
sidenote: isn’t the cover of this thing pretty fucking cool too?" - Stuff

Parisian Lead singer Nina Courson met
British guitarist Phil Honey-Jones in 2009 in the now defunct venue Punk in
Soho, both of them were in separate bands at the time. It wasn't long before
ideas were bouncing around and they began to write songs together, the shared
influences of the likes of Iggy Pop, Nirvana, Blondie, Killing Joke,Sonic
Youth, Bauhaus and Bowie playing a big part in the direction of the music.
Inspiration has come from far and wide and lyrically the lines between
autobiographical and fiction are blurred and merged. I suppose if there was a
specific aim it would be to capture and bottle the essence of certain music
from the past and release it kicking and screaming into the now.
They have played now with many different
drummers and bass players along the way, the line-up seems to be in a constant
state of flux but the spirit remains the same.. They played their first gig
together at an all day punk festival in Brighton in September 2010 where the
promoter ran off with the money and Healthy Junkies only got to play about 15
mins before the festival shut down.. Since then the band have played many gigs
all over the U.K. including a slot at the mighty Rebellion punk festival in August
2012 and 2013 and will be back there on Friday 8th August 2014. The band
continue to play at their self-hosted monthly night at The Unicorn, Camden
London as well as travelling all round the UK whenever possible. A 2 week tour
of Britanny, France is scheduled for November, so its busy busy busy on the
road.
On stage lead singer Nina Courson interacts
with the other band members and entices her audience in the theatre that has
become the trademark of their live shows. Its all in the songs really, make what
you will of any messages you may find either hidden or glaringly obvious,
Healthy Junkies are here to entertain, they play what they feel like playing
and don't feel the need to compromise or fit in, The world right now is not
necessarily a better place but this is where we find ourselves and so stay
Healthy if you can and if you're going to get addicted to something, make it
music that means something, not prossac/mind numbing pharmaceutical corporate
rip off pills intended to kill individuality off and turn us into lobotomized
robot slaves.
They self released their debut album
entitled Sick Note in 2011. The follow up 'The Lost Refuge' is now available on
STP Records and an E.P. entitled 'Hair of the dog' is now available only at
gigs or from the band themselves online. The third album is currently being
mixed and due for release later this year on STP Records. The current line-up
for the band now includes Dave Renegade on bass guitar and Tony Alda on drums
playing alongside Nina and Phil.
Gentlemen Prefer Blood is a pop punk band from Los
Angeles, CA. The current lineup started in 2008 and features members of Big In
Japan (the Fat Wreck Chords band), RunX3, The Business Machines, and a bunch of
other bands you have never heard of. The band self released an EP in May of
2008 and their full length debut album in January 2009. With strong DIY ethics
and a love of early 80’s/late 90’s hardcore and punk, 70’s punk/power pop and
60’s pop/Motown, the band writes songs they would love to hear from their
heroes while retaining a unique sound.

Illegitimi Non Carborundum Album Review:
....the songwriting’s catchy, the performances are solid, and there are enough
noodly bits to keep things interesting. Although I have yet to subject this to
it, I’m fairly certain it’ll past the “how good does this sound full blast in
the car?” test with flying colors. –Jimmy Alvarado - RAZORCAKE
LIVE SHOW REVIEW "...good pop punk band along the lines of The Copyrights
or The Methadones. The four or five songs I caught ended up being that golden
mix of catchy but not too slick for their own good."- RAZORCAKE
