Renaiszance

About: Renaiszance

“Study the science of art. Study the art of science. Develop your senses, especially learn how to see. Realize that everything connects to everything else.” -Leonardo Da Vinci

Da Vinci eloquently stated what the Renaissance Era stood for, rebirth and cultural innovation between the arts and science. RENAISZANCE, an inspirational and uplifting electronic dance / pop group comprised of brother-sister duo, Ravé Mehta (producer) and Radha Mehta (lead singer) embodies that very spirit in their debut album RISE.

In this twelve song release, Ravé overlays Radha’s angelic wide-ranging vocals and melodies onto a rhythmic canvas of electronic dance and dubsteb.

“I Will Rise” is the first single from the RENAISZANCE debut album RISE and serves as the album’s theme song in honor of Nikola Tesla.

The album RISE is inspired by Ravé Mehta’s graphic novel THE INVENTOR, based on the true story of mystic inventor Nikola Tesla. Recognized as a top seller at its debut in San Diego’s Comic-Con 2012, THE INVENTOR illustrates how Nikola Tesla won the epic AC/DC battle against Thomas Edison during the late 19th century, regarding Tesla as the true Father of Modern Electricity. Although Tesla later died penniless, many of his inventions and ideas continue to live on and are still used in today’s technology, including in the creation of electronic music. In honor of Tesla, Ravé produced RISE as an electronic dance concept album that speaks to THE INVENTOR’s story of LOVE, HOPE and FREEDOM.

In addition to Tesla’s reemergence in the 21st century, “I Will Rise” also plays to the very emotions both Ravé and Radha have felt throughout their lives about never giving up and always believing in oneself, setting a tone of empowerment throughout the album. The songs featured on RISE purely have a life of their own scattered along the three dimensional continuum of love, hope, and freedom. This is where RISE takes the listener on a journey through the duo’s subconscious, skydiving from a childhood surrounded by naysayers only to land firmly on the ground as adults with the determination to charge ahead and eventually fly on their own.

The song “Friend In Me” is an anthem on friendship and unbreakable bonds, while on the other extreme the song “Fake New Real You” is an open letter pushing a loved one away to self-explore. The emotional roller coaster of love rises to its peak in “Can’t Let Go”, dealing in one’s inability to let a loved one go, and falls to its trough in “I Will Always Love You” about a heartfelt way of simply saying ‘we’re just not meant to be together’.

Hope is the theme that resonates most with the duo as evident in most of their songs. Having watched their immigrant parents from India pursue a life-long dream of a better life in the U.S., they explore chasing their own dreams in the songs “American Dream” and “Follow Your Heart”. The tracks “They Can’t Stop Me”, “Did You Ever Think”, and “My Way” spotlight overcoming negativity while pursuing their aspirations. “Touch the Sky” speaks to how unconditional love and freedom combined with responsibility empowers one to continually test and push their own boundaries.

Closing the album is the song “Grace and Glory”. Originally written as a tribute to NASA’s final space shuttle launch, the song celebrates how collectively we can achieve anything we put our hearts and minds to.

Art Ceilidh

About: Art Ceilidh

ART CEILIDH was founded in 1998 by Mikhael Smirnov (vocal, & accordion) and Sergey Klevenskim (wind instruments), from the infamous “Ivan Smirnov's Quartet”.

ART CEILIDH is influenced in Celtic traditional, but eventually moved in experimental directions that have garnered them a unique sound and place in music genres. Their music fuses both eastern & western folk traditions together with heavy Celtic influences to create a unique sound that drew immediate attention in the music industry and with fans alike. The groups name speaks for itself: the spirit of tradition - the “Ceilidh”, In modern usage, a céilidh or ceilidh is a traditional Gaelic social gathering, which usually involves playing Gaelic folk music and dancing.

The repertoire of ART CEILIDH combines a diverse sound from Celtic to jazz, thus forming the group's own recognizable style and niche.

The Bands first international tour was a grand success at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland 1999. The result of their success inspired a Collection of Celtic tunes and the album CELTOMANIA, produced by Mikhael Smirnov, on the SKETIS label under the wing of a project called "All Tribes".

In 2001, bass guitarist Alexei Raspopov, then an art director of the Moscow club Vermel, joined the duo of Mikhael Smirnov and Sergei Klevensky and Art Ceildh, found their sound. The band then toured extensively through the folk rock festival circuit and became a mainstay and fan favorite.

Past members of ART CEILIDH have been, Dimitry Sevastyanov and Boris Lifshits (drums), Andrey Zvonkov and Nikolay Sarabjanov (guitar), Anton Revnjuk and Peter Dolsky (bass guitar), and also, during the period from 2000 to 2003 the groups vocalist was Ljubov Erdenko. ART CEILIDH’s first album in 2006, "Ceilidoscope Being European", was a compilation of music performed over the years. However, with the sudden, and tragic death of Alexey Raspopov ART CEILIDH went on hiatus until 2010.

In 2010 the musicians decided to continue the bands legacy and soon after, recorded their second album. Have a listen to ART CEILIDH here and find out what they are up to by subscribing to their official page.

The Current Band Members of ART CEILIDH are:

Mikhael Smirnov - keyboard, accordion, percussion, vocal.
Sergey Klevensky - clarinet, whistles, bagpipes, other wind instruments, vocal

Mayd Hubb

About: Mayd Hubb

From the beginning, awakening a curiosity without border, the theme of travel is for him a scouring inspiration source.

His discography comes like a zoom starting with India in 2007 (“Linga Yoni, The Dub Paradox”), then all around the world in 2009 (“The Blue Train”), until the moon in 2012 with Joe Pilgrim (“Mellowmoon”). As this structure ever widening, his music is characterized by a search space, a mystical experience in the depths of the underground. Constantly pushing the frontier of kinds, he’s creating a recognizable sound, adapted to the power of broadband sound like a shockwave.

In this logic of expansion, contact with public soon became one of the essential point of his creativity. Contrasting with the intimacy of his solo studio work, his live performances reveal a breathtaking energy and run without compromise, accompanied by a massive bass played by Zeuspi. In this respect, we could say that 2009 is revealed as the year of live concretisation. The release of his album “The Blue Train” led him to perform on the internationnal stage, USA, Canada, Europe, amounting him to the rank of unavoidable artists of the French Dub scene.

In 2011, his band TelDem Com’unity released an album “Ground Zero” very welcomed by critics and concert halls. Even today, his life is divided between these two projects, sometimes punctuated by amazing colaborations, espacially with Shanti D (“Politik”) or the label Jarring Effect (compilation JFX 100).

2012 will be the year of many surprises because he released with the singer Joe Pilgrim the ambitious “Mellowmoon”. Dedicated to the moon, this new album turned to the earth on one side and to the stars on the other promises to be a first step towards a much greater dimension. A music from elsewhere for a live all in power, that you will find on stage in March.

Plumb

About: Plumb

Plumb was born in Indianapolis and grew up in Atlanta, singing in church and school. At 20 she moved to Nashville one week before her 21st birthday, working as a background singer for a number of notable artists, including Bill Gaither and Amy Grant. Following Silvertone Records affiliate Essential Records mainstream alternative radio success with its debut artist Jars of Clay in 1995, the label signed Plumb as its second artist. When she was urged to write, Plumb turned to Matt Bronlewee—an original member of Jars of Clay who happened to be her next-door neighbor—and the two hit it off. The debut album, Plumb, was released in 1997, with stage name Plumb coming from the Suzanne Vega song "My Favorite Plum". Plumb has said subsequently that the addition of the letter "B" to the end was the idea of her producer Matt Bronleewe and, in her mind, also represents Bronleewe's important contribution to her sound.

Candycoatedwaterdrops:

In 1999, Plumb released a second studio album titled Candycoatedwaterdrops, which won the 2000 Gospel Music Association Dove Award for "Modern Rock Album of the Year". Three tracks from it were later covered by other artists; "Stranded" and "Here With Me" by Jennifer Paige and, in 2001, "Damaged" by Plummet. Though the album won the DOVE Award for Best Modern Rock Album in 2000, and saw strong radio success with the single "God-Shaped Hole", the subject matter and approach of much of Plumb's music was often considered too dark and taboo for the mainstream Christian marketplace. Plumb's tendency to write songs about deeply personal stories issues, such as international hit "Cut" which addressed cutting, and "Damaged" which addressed a girl coping with being molested as a child, led to more enthusiastic reception by fans of alternative and dance music. Fueling the break from CCM, "Cut" was also used prominently during a pivotal scene in the storyline of The Vampire Diaries in the 10th episode of season 1, "The Turning Point".

Beautiful Lumps of Coal and Chaotic Resolve:

Plumb considered leaving the music industry after the 2000 album, but changed her mind after receiving a note from a fan a few hours before what she thought to be her final concert. The letter was about her song "Damaged" about a girl coping with being molested as a child. The note said "Whatever you do, I just want you to never forget that you have changed someone's life," which inspired Plumb to remain in the music industry. She signed to Curb Records in 2003, releasing the album Beautiful Lumps of Coal on March 25, 2003. The lead single, "Real", peaked at No. 41 in the UK Singles Chart. Her next album, titled Chaotic Resolve, entered the Billboard 200 album chart at No. 177 on March 9, 2006. "Better" reached No. 1 on the U.S. Christian airplay chart. The Bronleewe & Bose remix of her follow-up, "Cut", hit No. 1 on SiriusXM's dance hits channel BPM, and No. 5 on Billboard's Dance Charts Hot Dance Club Songs.

Blink:

Shortly after the birth of her second child, Plumb recorded her 5th album, titled Blink, as collection of lullaby inspired songs. It was released on October 9, 2007, immediately becoming one of her best selling and most enduring albums to date. Lead single "In My Arms", was used in conjunction with key plot narratives for both Vampire Diaries and One Tree Hill, and became Plumb's biggest international hit to date, selling close to half a million singles in both the United States and Russia. "In My Arms" received remixes by Kaskade, Scotty K, Bronleewe & Bose, Gomi, and Bimbo Jones, with the later reaching the No. 3 spot on the Billboard Dance Charts.

Beautiful History:

On May 19, 2009, Curb Records announced that it would release a career spanning greatest hits album titled Beautiful History, which was released later in the year and included several new songs.[16] The first single from Beautiful History, "Hang On", reached No. 1 on US Billboard Hot Dance Club Play in 2009 and reached the top spot on Billboard's Hot Dance Airplay chart in 2010.

Need You Now:

Plumb returned to the studio in 2010 with longtime producer and co-writer Matt Bronleewe to begin work on what would become her 6th studio album, while also changing management and signing with alternative boutique firm Street Talk Media. The debut single from the project, "Drifting", a co-penned duet with longtime friend Dan Haseltine (of Jars of Clay), spread quickly across Christian Rock radio. The second single, "Need You Now (How Many Times)", went to CCM radio in early 2012 and has become Plumb's most successful single to date in that market, rising to number to No. 1 on multiple radio and iTunes charts in both the United States and Canada by year's end. The single has remained in regular rotation nationwide for well over a year, selling close to 300,000 singles on iTunes to date, and is BDS certified at over 100,000 radio spins. The album Need You Now was released worldwide in February 2013, charting at a career-best No. 56 on the Billboard 200 chart and No. 2 on Christian album charts. The album received five Dove Award nominations including Song of the Year and Contemporary/Pop Album of the Year. With her children now all at least grade school age, and with the massive success of Need You Now, 2012 and 2013 saw the most aggressive touring of her entire career, playing major festivals throughout 2012 and 2013, embarking on her first and largely sold-out headlining tour in the fall of 2013, and joining the massive Winterjam arena tour for November 2013-14.

Exhale:

Plumb released her seventh studio album, Exhale, on May 4, 2015.

The Judes

About: The Judes

Every now and then a band comes along that grabs you by the ears and just makes you listen. One that doesn't sound like just anyone. A band that changes people's perceptions. A band that quite possibly, changes music.

In an age where sampling and digital mixes run rampant, it's refreshing to hear something a little different and less sterile - something that has heart. A return to fun. A return to roots.

This band has a unique presence; that something special that sets them far apart from the everyday songs that bombard us at every turn. It is this simplicity and rawness that takes everyone to that happy place which is linked to fun, good times, and above all an appreciation of great music.

2014

Generation Who is the second studio album released by Canadian rock band The Judes, released on the 11th of November, 2014 in North America, and the UK as well digitally worldwide, and on the 20th of November, 2014 in Japan.

The album marks somewhat of a departure from the bands previous efforts, moving instead towards a darker theme and grittier songs. Although technically the bands second commercially released album,Generation Who was originally intended to be released before “All That Is The Judes”. However, due to the band working with producer David Grahame at the time, the recordings for the “Generation Who” album were abandoned and left in limbo until the band completed work on what was to become "All That Is The Judes".

Acid House Kings

About: Acid House Kings

After the breakup of their band Poprace, singer/guitarist Niklas Angergård and his bassist brother Johan joined up with guitarist Joakim Ödlund and formed the Swedish twee-pop trio Acid House Kings in 1991. Initially inspired by their shared disappointment over the breakup of Felt and common dissatisfaction with Morrissey's Kill Uncle album, the trio began crafting a innocent and simple brand of pop. Signing to the German label Marsh Marigold, the group issued its debut EP, Play Pop!, in early 1992, followed later that year by the full-length Pop, Look & Listen! The group's rediscovery of childhood favorites the Pet Shop Boys informed 1994's Monaco G.P. EP; disappointed by the record's lack of chart success, Acid House Kings maintained a low profile for the next three years as the Angergård brothers worked on other projects (Club 8 for Johan, Red Sleeping Beauty for Niklas), finally resurfacing in 1997 with the single "Yes! You Love Me." Advantage Acid House Kings was released the next year on Johan's Labrador label.

Soon after, Ödlund left the band and Julia Lannerheim, who had sung background vocals on the record, joined. The trio next surfaced in 2002 with the album Mondays Are Like Tuesdays and Tuesdays Are Like Wednesdays, followed three years later by the excellent Sing Along with Acid House Kings. The latter album's unique packaging included a bonus DVD with karaoke-friendly versions of each song. Their next EP, Do What You Wanna Do, played up this angle as well by including versions of songs from the album sung by friends of the band. After this the bandmembers took the next few years off, as real life and other projects took up most of their time. When they began work on the next album, Acid House Kings spent a long time honing the potential track list until they ended up with, in their words, "ten songs and ten potential singles." Music Sounds Better with You was released in March of 2011. ~ Jason Ankeny & Tim Sendra, Rovi

Translunar

About: Translunar

Translunar is the music of Darrell Farnsworth, long time musician and producer, showcasing a sound incorporating many textures and genres including Trance, Electronica, Progressive Rock and Electro.

My influences include some of the great trendsetters in electronic music like Jean Michel Jarre, Mike Oldfield and Vangelis, as well as some of today’s groundbreaking artists in the form of Goldfrapp, William Orbit and the Orb. I believe that by listening to the work of these founders and contemporaries, I have gained a greater understanding of what I am trying to achieve as a musician in my own right.

Translunar has been defined by my involvement in the web-based music portal Soundcloud, giving me the opportunity to present my creations to many other music industry musicians, producers and DJ’s.

By utilising Soundcloud, I have seen my music become as popular as it has ever been. It provides me with the interaction of other likeminded individuals and gives me the confidence to develop my music, in the knowledge that at least some people like it!

Nordagust

About: Nordagust

The name "NORDAGUST" comes from a myth, and according to the myth "NORDAGUST" was the spirit of the north wind. The spirit was said to be extremely wise, and was supposed to have insight in all things. The spirit was also called "the grieving souls spirit”.

The idea of "NORDAGUST" was basically to use the wistful, bewitching and recklessness of Norwegian folk music and to integrate this with a form of heavy rock music. With this as a starting point, we have made music from our own impressions and experience. This has of course been done before, but we try hard to find our own expression, with weight on a soulful atmosphere and organic dynamics, above precision and virtuosity.

The soul of the soil

Some things in life may come a little closer when you take a walk in our woods. You will hopefully find energy and inspiration.

Our music is colored by the spirit of the past, when our forefathers lived in and of nature. They believed everything in nature had a soul, and the better you knew the rituals to reach them - the wiser you were.

Our forefathers are all dead and gone, but their homes have been transformed into the forest again. Their struggle for survival through thousand of years has turned into:

"The soul of the soil"

The woods are ours-though we don't own them...

Nordagust are:

Born on August 20th 1988, Reno Ka is a singer / songwriter known for her eclectic mix of musical genres including house, R&B and soul. Reno started her music career at an early age and by 7, was already playing in piano concerts. By the age of twelve Reno started her first studio productions.
