Today’s edition of United Music Mag puts the spotlight on
four awesome bands from around the World. “UNDERGROUND” from Melbourne
Australia, “The People” from LA California, “Southbound Snake Charmers” also
from Melbourne Australia, and “Psychic Ills” from New York N.Y.
New Music is what you came for so lets get to it!
1.
Underground
Combining the elements of electric and acoustic rock,
Underground have created a unique sound of their own. With the expert assistance
of engineering team Lach Wooden and Mikey Young (aka Eddy Current), the boys
have exploded back into action with a brand new EP filled with powerful riffs
and foot stomping energy.
THE BAND: Sean - Vocals/Guitar, James - Guitar, Clay - Bass,
Evan – Drums
Following a successful year playing a number of live shows
at local venues, Underground have continued to broaden their horizons.
Channelling a wide range of rock influences the band have exploded back into
action with their latest recording “Wise Up”, an EP filled with powerful riffs
and foot stomping energy. Recorded with the assistance of experienced local
sound engineer Lachlan Wooden (Eddy Current Suppression Ring, The Cat Empire,
Clairy Browne), Underground have further expanded their unique blend of
melodic, alternative and acoustic rock. With a fresh sound, a diverse and
energetic live set and a stack of new material, the boys are bringing their
very own acoustic vibe to the stage.
A little truth goes a long way, especially when the message
comes in the form of music! Get up, stand up and wise up is what millions are
saying all over the planet and of course it started Underground. The first
single “Wise Up” from their album by the same name, is a real solid tune,
guaranteed to start your feet tapping and your head boppin’. What a great way
to kick off this edition of United Music Mag.
Be sure to check out their FULL EP below and connect with
the band on their social media websites to stay up to date with this excellent
band.
Striving to revive an organic sound, the "Americana
Rock" band, The People was formed in the spring of 2015. The name deriving
from the long list of talented musicians they had sifted through to find the
perfect matches. They just released their debut EP while touring LA and
surrounding areas. With roots in americana, rock, and blues, The People are
bound to get all generations swaying.
Bandcamp is the place to unearth great new music and “Gone”
by “The People” is certainly a good example. Have a listen to this solid
rockin’ tune that is guaranteed to have you boppin’ with no stoppin’! Their
debut 4 song self-titled EP “The People” serves up a variety of great sounds,
sure to please a wide variety of music fans. Here’s a band to watch going
forward, so be sure to check Instagram where you can stay up to date on their
adventure and follow them on Bandcamp where their music is featured.
The Southbound Snake Charmers are a Blues Rock power trio
that use elements of Psychedelia, Stoner, Swamp and Voodoo Blues to conjure up
their own unique sound, producing an eclectic experience the band like to call
"Big Chunky Grooving Psychedelic Electric Dirty Blues!"
Although the bands overall sound may be hard to pigeon hole,
influences of Cream, Rory Gallagher and Thin Lizzy shine through and Chris’
Vocals have at times been compared stylistically to that of Johnny Winter.
Supporting some of their favourite acts like Collard Greens
& Gravy, Bo Jenkins and Dave Tice (Buffalo), the band have performed around
Melbourne since 2013
The band’s debut EP “The Dirt Blues” was released in 2014
and the follow up EP “Voodoo chicken Shack” in 2016 which is gaining overseas
interest.
What started out as 3 guitarists playing their original
style of delta blues has progressed through various stages of blues
experimentation until reaching where they are today, a
power trio.
What’s not to like about this band? Awesome rockin’ swaying
blues with an attitude! That’s what the “Southbound Snake Charmers” bring to
the table with their second EP “VooDoo Chicken Shack”. A five song EP that
should be in your rock music collection!
My personal favourite, and it was hard to pick one from this
EP, is “Moonshine Runners Blues”, an Infectious rockin’ Blues tune packed with
energy to capture your soul and take you down the road at high speed. But don’t
take my word for it, check out the FULL EP to discover what I mean by 5 great
tunes! Then see what they are up to by visiting their social links. (See Below)
When it comes to following the beat of their own drum, New
York’s Psychic Ills have exemplified the phrase since their beginnings in 2003.
Initially spawned from electronic-centered home recording experiments, they
progressed into an all-night full-band exploration in a neighborhood where noise
wasn’t a problem.
The Psychic Ill’s caught my ears on Bandcamp recently as I
was browsing what’s new in music. Once I started listening to their album
“Inner Journey” I found I couldn’t stop listening, as the mellow psychedelic
hooks were too pleasing to let go. Their song “I Don’t Mind” is truly a state
of mind as is their new album “Inner Journey”. Why not check it out on Bandcamp
and then check out what the band is up to by visiting their social websites.
Well there we have it, 4 more bands for you to get to know,
experience and add to your music collections. Your support of the artists
allows them to do what they enjoy doing while providing you with music you

Today’s edition of United Music Mag puts the spotlight on
four awesome bands; Black Mirrors from Brussels Belgium, Different Light from
Prague, Czech Republic, Coastal Wives from Denver Colorado USA, and Saddar Bazaar
from Bristol UK. Also included in conclusion is a little summary on the revenue
war being waged between the major labels and YouTube / Google, oh and a special
shout out to Jim Messina. So, let’s get to the important stuff in life, “NEW
MUSIC”.
1.
Black Mirrors
Rock music with attitude has evolved from the 70’s and is
tearing up the music scene by taking its place front and center in reflection
of it...here’s the real deal, a Rock band from Belgium called “Black Mirrors”.
Their latest single “Funky Queen” packs a wallop with a pause, build-up and
explosion that is guaranteed to grab you and make you scream into music
ecstasy! I’m an instant fan…and once you have a listen to their music I’m sure
their offerings will be destined for your music collection.
Be sure to visit Black Mirrors website to find out where
they’re playing live because life requires your participation at a great
concert, and this band has that rock fix you crave.
Progressive rock has returned to modern times on the wings
of its greatest influences from the late 60’s to the early 80’s, with “The
Burden of Paradise” the latest album by Prague, Czech Republic band “Different
Light”.
“The Burden of Paradise is a semi-conceptual neo-progressive
rock album that deals with the idea that a person is only truly free when he or
she is completely independent of anyone else and is fully accepting of the
consequences of life.
“The Burden of Paradise” embodies really good music with
noble lyrics, the stuff that makes bands memorable and worthy of our selective
ears. It’s certainly great to hear progressive rock music making its way back
as it offers a mindset of independence. Truly a delightful find for me as I’m
sure many progressive rock music fans will enjoy. The album was released on
February 29, 2016 and can be found at most online stores. Check out their
official website for more information and be sure to stop in on Facebook to say
hi.

Coastal Wives is a solid up and coming Indie Blues Rock Band
from Denver Colorado not to be missed. They just released their debut 4-song EP
“Traditions” on April 21st, 2016 and by the amazing sounds they are
creating, they will certainly turn a few industry heads their way, they
certainly turned mine.
My personal favourite song from their EP is the Bluesy rock
number “Firebreather” but of course “Half Foot Friends”, “The Amazing
Antoinette” and “Traditions” are certainly a close second. Check out their
music below to see what I mean and then be sure to check out their social links
to stay up to date with the band.

Firebreather – (EP: Traditions released April 21st,
2016)
Our fourth band is a Psychedelic Rock group from Bristol, UK
called “Saddar Bazaar”.
History:
Formed in 1990 by Shaun Hyder (sitar) and Rehan Matthew
Hyder (guitar), they were soon joined by John Sage on drums and supported
various bands in the local area such as The Seers, Praise Space Electric and
the Bevis Frond. They also played at the well known Ashton Court Community
Festival in Bristol.
By 1992 John had left the band and had been replaced by
David Spencer, whilst Tainenska Royal came in on flute and keyboards. It was
this line-up that recorded "Night Descent" for the indie charting
"Fun With Mushrooms" album on Delerium. The bands appearance on this
album resulted in a pile of mail from punters, at Delerium HQ, requesting a
whole album of material by the band. It also resulted in a session for American
doom metal band Solitude Aeturnus (Saddar Bazaar play on the track "The
9th Day" on the bands 1994 album "Through the Darkest Hour" on
Music For Nations).
Delerium decided to fund an album and the finished article
featured new keyboard player Terry Banx and was produced by Bob Pierce (an
ex-member of 60s UK psych band The Mirror). "The Conference of The
Birds" is one of Delerium's strangest releases to date. A perfect acoustic
Eastern chill-out experience that harkens back to groups such as The Third Ear
Band and The Ceyleib People, with its atonal, psychedelic simplicity, whilst
appealing to the ambient trance textures of today’s head music scene.
2016:
Well, they just released a phenomenal album on May 16th,
2016 titled “Seventh Valley”.
What you can expect when listening to this album is an
expanding consciousness triggered by progressive psychedelic sounds that reward
your being with a sense of contentment and relaxation while allowing your
thoughts to travel into the realm of oneness…what’s not to like? It’s a great
escape from the upside down realities we experience everyday, and that alone
makes it all worthwhile.
“Seventh Valley” is a solid Progressive Psychedelic Rock
album that will appeal to a variety of music fans who will view this music in
the category of their liking, weather it’s shoegaze, stoner rock, head music,
Progressive Rock, or Psychedelic Rock; all will agree this is good music!
To find out more about “Saddar Bazaar”, check out their
websites and let them know what you think of the “Seventh Valley” once you’ve
experienced it.

Well there we have it, 4 more bands for you to get to know, experience and add to your music collections. Your support of the
artists allows them to do what they enjoy doing while providing you with music you enjoy, so please lend them your support…The great thing about being online is that it allows artists and fans to connect to one another which is a great experience for all...hey, and there's no greedy corporation involved 8-) That’s a pretty good
arrangement don’t you think?
Speaking of greedy corporations, the big three labels, led
by Warner Music, are trying to shake YouTube down for more revenue on music
video streaming…ie: they want a bigger piece of the action, as it looks like
“Streaming has Become Warner Music’s Biggest Business”.
The major labels continue to claim they are losing money for
a variety of unproven or hollow reasons. But I can tell you that fairness in
music streaming is not the real issue here, greed is.
Personally, I think all musicians and artists need to
consider their options. Why allow a few corporate giants to fight over what
really should be your money? If artists kept their rights and put their music
up on their own YouTube channels, and then sold their music through music
providers such as Bandcamp, who pay them more, they would take back the music industry in their
own names…that’s what freedom and independence is.
Consider that Independent music providers such as “Bandcamp”
serve the artists as a direct artist to fan music store, which has seen music fans
pay the artists 156 million dollars and $4.3 million in the last 30 days alone
by directly using the Bandcamp application. Imagine what would happen if
everyone decided to use Bandcamp? If anything, the rise of Independence would
be a welcome thing, which I believe is what the major labels fear the most.
By the way, just in case you were wondering, World United
Music is not a corporation nor do you see any advertising on this website and I
do not collect revenue on my YouTube channel even though I’m unemployed. World
United Music is about supporting artists who make great music. Isn’t that what
it’s all about? If you like what you hear, please share with your online
friends and family…and artists, please share with your network because your
fans might become another artists fans and their fans might just become your
fans. Music is your voice and the voice of the people. Have a great week
everyone!
Oh, and one more thing, in celebration of artist
Independence, today’s special shout out goes to Jim Messina, because he dared to
use Bandcamp. Right on Jim!! Please support Jim Messina.
Special Feature:
Music Legend: Jim Messina
Singer, Writer, Guitarist, Producer, and Recording Engineer.
Jim Messina was the founding member of the Southern California surf-rock combo
Jim Messina & The Jesters, a member of the folk rock group Buffalo
Springfield at the tail end of their history, a co-founder of the country-rock
band Poco, and then half of Loggins & Messina. Jim currently records,
performs and tours as a solo artist. Be sure to check out Jim Messina’s website
and follow him on Facebook and twitter to find out what he’s up to and where he’s
playing next.
"Live" at the Clark Center for the Performing Arts
is "An intimate Evening" of "Acoustic and Electric" music
with consument musicians performing the original musical arrangements. Jim
Messina performs songs he either wrote, recorded or produced while performing
with The Buffalo Springfield, POCO, Loggins & Messina and his solo career.
This particular "LIVE" in concert CD (and DVD) was produced for his
fans and those music lovers who have followed Jim’s career from its beginning
in 1966 to the present day. So sit back in the comfort of your home to either
watch the "LIVE" DVD In Concert, or simply relax in your favorite CD
listening environment, close your eyes and Jim will place you in a "Front
Row Center Seat" in your own private concert hall for a musical journey of
his legendary career. This album is also available "LIVE" on DVD.

In this weeks edition of United Music Mag, we cover a wide
variety of new music including UK folk rock legend,
“Graham Nash”, Cumbria UK’s gift to Progressive Rock, “Gandalf’s Fist”, a groovy Psychedelic surf Rock band from Madrid Spain called “Phonocaptors” and a
great Indie rock band from Bursa, Turkey called “IN HOODIES”.
2016 is shaping up to be an awesome year for music and not
surprisingly, today’s edition has a lot to offer. So let's not delay any further and get right to it...
1.
Graham Nash
First up is the never aging Graham Nash who has just
released his latest album ”This Path Tonight” on Blue Castle Records. I was
pleasantly surprised to find Graham’s new album on Bandcamp today and so was
able to have a good listen to it and can say without hesitation that “This Path
Tonight” is one of Graham’s best albums to date, in fact there’s going to be a
good argument that it could be his best, and that’s saying something. But don’t
take my word for it, have a listen to the music for yourself, you wont be disappointed.
“This Path Tonight” is the new studio album and collection
of 10 original songs from Graham Nash. Produced by Shane Fontayne, this is
Nash's first solo record of new music in fourteen years. The album is one of
reflection and transition of a singer-songwriter whose career (the Hollies,
CSN, CSNY) has spanned more than five decades and counting.
“What a pleasure it was recording this album,” says Graham
Nash. “Shane and I had written 20 songs in a month and recorded them in eight
days. The music has a different feel to my earlier albums although I hear
echoes of each one. This journey of mine was one of self-discovery, of intense
creation, of absolute passion.”
“This Path Tonight” is one of the best laidback reflective
albums you will hear this year and will certainly top the charts. Be sure to catch Graham on Tour this year and while you’re
at it, drop by his social websites to say “Hi” to let him know just how great
his new album is…

Progressive rock is back on the rise, and Gandalf’s Fist has
a new album to share this year!
Their album, “The Clockwork Fable” is due out on May 01st,
2016 but the band has graciously given their music fans a track to listen to before release day called “Shadowborn”. They also released a song in Dec 2015 called, “The First Lamplighter (Memories of Nuclear Snow)” to keep everyone on their toes in anticipation…and of course we have included them here, below, for your listening
pleasure. 8-)
The bands storied music has gained a sizable following over
the past 11 years due to their unique blend of music that's steeped in Medieval Folk rock, including streams of Space rock to round out their brand of Progressive rock.
Gandalf’s Fist is Prog/Folk/Rock from the Murky depths of
Cumbria, aided by a merry band of misfits, just waiting to be your new
favourite Cult band! Check out more of their music below and then head over to
their social websites to see what they’re up to.
Album: The Clockwork Fable – (Release Date May 01, 2016)
Picking through new digital albums on bandcamp can be a real
joy on some days and today was no exception especially when the first notes of,
“Better Call Saul” by Phonocaptors captured my attention through its mesmerizing
foot tapping wall of sound. I liked it right off the bat.
Phonocaptors is a far out Psychedelic instrumental quartet
from Madrid Spain that just released their third album, “Errata Naturae” on
Bandcamp April 16, 2016. All three albums are packed with a progressive
psychedelic surf sound that tell a story in a unique
progressive instrumental way and it's delivered in a multi coloured flair on the
high side of the surf. Very enjoyable music…
Check out their music below and then visit their social
pages to see what they’re up to… 8-)
Album: Errata Naturae – (Released on Bandcamp April 16,
2016)
IN HOODIES is an awesome rock band from Bursa, Turkey that I
happened across on bandcamp today…all I can say is it’s been a great day for
music! IN HOODIES music is described as Indie rock, or alternative rock that at
times, borders on progressive rock…and really there’s a lot more room for description, but one word sums up their debut album, “A Lunar Manoeuvre” in a
nutshell, and that word is “Awesome!” with an exclamation point!
The 10-song album, “A Lunar Manoeuvre” is a perfect blend of
vocal harmony, lyric, and music vibration that not only captures your attention
but also grows on you with each play, while also taking you to a real good
place inside. The music is truly “Infectious” and will be one of the memorable
albums of 2016. This is great music! Have a listen below and be sure to visit
their social websites to let them know just how great the album is.
Full Album: A Lunar Manoeuvre – (Released April 11, 2016)
