The Outs

About: The Outs

The Outs are an alternative / Psychedelic Rock Band from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

In 2008, “The Outs” were named winners of a worldwide contest to cover music by “Oasis”. Their version of "Bag It Up" won the praise of Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher to say that “they were right in the heart of the music."

Since then, the band has been refining their vintage sound for nearly six years and absorbing influences from other classic bands such as The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, The Doors, The Beach Boys and Pink Floyd…not to mention some of the more contemporary bands such as Black Keys and Tame Impala.

The Outs launched their debut EP “Maybe Pleasing” in 2010, however, they released their official debut EP “Spiral Steams” in 2013 with the first single “Right or Wrong” pouring out rave reviews on British Radio stations.

The band has also played in a number of highly regarded rock festivals throughout Brazil including “Rock In Rio” and “The Ibeu Rock Festival” and continue to wow their audiences.

The See See

About: The See See

London-based psychedelic pop band The See See are Richard Olson, Kevin Peyok, Paulie Cobra, Phil Anderson and Sam Ferman. They originally hail from as far apart as Malmoe (SE), Detroit (US), Leeds (UK), Manchester (UK) and Auckland (NZ).

After 6 sold out 7″ singles, being hand-picked for support tours with The Raconteurs and The Brian Jonestown Massacre and a reputation for wonderfully exuberant live shows, their debut album ‘Late Morning Light’ was released on the Great Pop Supplement label in a limited edition vinyl version in November 2010. It sold out in a day, got re-pressed, and promptly sold out again. The album was released on CD via Dell’Orso records in February 2011.

Following great album reviews in Mojo, Uncut, Record Collector, Shindig! and Timeout, the band released their now sold out 7″ single of Gold & Honey/Sunbleached (Eat Lights Become Lights Remix) on The Great Pop Supplement label on March 5th 2012.

The See See’s much anticipated second album ‘Fountayne Mountain’ was released on Dell’Orso / Great Pop Supplement on May 28th 2012 on CD/LP/Download. It received overwhelmingly positive reviews in the UK and Europe including 4/5* in the German edition of Rolling Stone magazine. This was followed by the release of 7″ single Sweet Hands/Silver Raven on Berlin’s Rank Records.

The summer has also seen The See See play a number of European and UK dates.

The band are currently working on their third album which is as yet untitled. And the legendary US label Sundazed Records will be putting out a new 7″ single on January 29th followed by an anthology of both their 2 albums as well as rare singles and exclusives.

The Hanging Stars were an epiphany visited upon the rain soaked air of England's green and pleasant land, becoming whole, tangible and real in the Californian desert.

There they formed there mix of lush harmonies, cosmic americana and tuneful folk creating something halfway between the Mississippi and the Mersey, the desert's beating sun and the dark skies of London. Their sound is something timeless and yet somehow new, simultaneously nostalgic and prophetic.

They vary in number, yet wherever they go they carry the rain and the sand with them.

About: Avers

Psychedelic pop. Blistering garage rock. Fuzzed-out shoegaze. Free-formed throwback jams. With their amps cranked high and their voices doused in reverb, Avers brew up their own kind of spacey swirl. It's a sound that keeps one foot in the past and the other in the present, like some kind of 1960s time capsule unearthed by a group of 21st century indie kids.

And it sort of happened by accident.

On a summer night in 2013, two Richmond based musicians got together to talk shop and geek out over psychedelic records. It went well. The next time, they brought along some additional friends. Before long, a proper six-piece had formed, with The Head and the Heart's Tyler Williams on drums and some of the city's best frontmen including James Mason (the Mason Brothers), James Lloyd Hodges (Farm Vegas), Alexandra Spalding (Hypercolor), Adrian Olsen (Hypercolor), and Charlie Glenn (the Trillions) swapping their way between bass, guitar and keyboard duties. Everybody sang, adding harmonies and background vocals to the band's noisy sweep.

In just over a week, ten songs were written. The music was ethereal and expansive, with electric guitar riffs that sprawled skyward into the ether and deep-seated percussion that brought everything crashing back to earth. Avers recorded everything as they went along, setting up shop at Olsen's own studio, Montrose Recording. Located on an historic Richmond plantation and featuring some of the same vintage equipment used by hometown heroes like Sparklehorse and Brian Harvey, Montrose became the band's official home base, a place where new sounds could be coaxed out of old instruments.

Tracked live and produced by the bandmates themselves, Empty Light is a tribute to chance encounters and shared goals. It's the sound of a young band coming together, blending a plurality of influences the epic sweep of Spiritualized, the guitar-fueled freakouts of Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, the cultish crunch of Brian Jonestown Massacre into something singular. It's a record that invites you to turn on and tune in... but it won't let you drop out. Empty Light is too rousing for that. ~ Andrew Leahey

The Sunchymes

The music of The Sunchymes is a summery fusion of power pop and psychedelia which has been compared to the likes of The Beach Boys, Wondermints, Beatles, The Byrds, Jellyfish and Baby Lemonade.

The debut album “Shifting Sands” was released on Calliope Records in December 2009 with a follow up album “Let your free flag fly” released in August 2012. Their third album “Present” was released on Aug 28^th, 2015.
