About: RedCrow

RedCrow are a new Brisbane-based four-piece group that fuses Americana, blues and roots music with ambient soundscapes into concise and melodious 3 minute songs.

Harmonies that make the listener unable to separate the singers. A wall of pure Americana blues underpinned by ambient soundscapes. Songs of life and grit - RedCrow will leave you with a smile on your face & dirt in your soul.

Houndmouth

About: Houndmouth

Houndmouth are a band from New Albany, Indiana consisting of Matt Myers (guitar, vocals), Katie Toupin (keyboard, vocals), Zak Appleby (bass, vocals), and Shane Cody (drums, vocals).

Houndmouth became a band in the summer of 2011. After playing locally in Louisville and Indiana, they performed at the SXSW music festival in March 2012 to promote their homemade self-titled EP. Geoff Travis, the head of Rough Trade was in the audience and offered a contract shortly after. In 2012, the band was named "Band Of The Week" by The Guardian.

In 2013 Houndmouth 's album, “From the Hills Below the City”, was released by Rough Trade. This led to US television performances on Letterman, Conan, World Cafe, as well as several major music festivals (ACL, Americana Music Festival, Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, and Newport Folk Festival).

SPIN and Esquire.com named Houndmouth a "must-see" band at Lollapalooza, and Garden & Gun said, "You'd be hard pressed to find a more effortless, well-crafted mix of roots and rock this year than the debut album from this Louisville quartet."

The band's second LP, “Little Neon Limelight”, was released on March 17, 2015 and launched the band to the next level with solid hit’s like “Sedona” and “Darling”. Be sure to catch them on tour after picking up their music at most online stores.

Michael Mazochi

About: Michael Mazochi

Michael Mazochi has been perusing the evolution of expression for the better part of a decade. His work ranges from folk, to country, to... indie rock, to pop, to rock and roll. His more instrumentally dense work with his band "The Von Furs" now called "The Michael Mazochi Band" is an exploration of pop, psychedelic, garage and good old fashioned rock n' roll while his solo work tends towards the more intimate confessions of a solo artist.

The Von Furs began life as a studio project for Michael (past winner of Folk Album of the Year and Folk Singer/Songwriter of the Year at the LA Music Awards). Based in Los Angeles, and following an extensive string of placements on hit t.v. shows like "New Girl", "True Blood", "Hart of Dixie", and "Gossip Girl" along with a spot in a "Coca-Cola" commercial, he decided it was time to put together a band of friends and musicians to play the songs he had been writing and recording. Blending a love for 60's Americana (Bob Dylan, Neil Young), Classic British Pop (The Beatles, The Kinks) and Indie Rock (Pavement, The Walkmen) The Von Furs set out to fill a gap in the fabric of modern indie rock. Building upon time spent in upstate NY and a cabin in the Angeles National Forest while tucked away and working tirelessly, Mazochi blended together his influences to produce something new and timeless.

Michael released "The Von Furs" energy filled alternative rock album "Love and Taxidermy" in 2016.

After a lengthy break from releasing full length albums under his name, Michael Mazochi returns with "The Cold War". The album is a look at the modern age and how it effects us as human beings. The 14 track album is a vibrant, exciting, and sometimes harrowing look at the effects of the times we live in and how we all need to find some sense of peace in the chaos that surrounds us.

"The Cold War" is mostly the work of one music obsessive who locked himself up in a small apartment and tried to make sense of the world around him. The album was made one piece at a time with nearly every instrument being played by Mazochi from drums to vocals. The presence of Maxwell Butler in a good handful of the songs provides a lift whenever and wherever he lends his talents.

"The Cold War" was Mazochi's most concise and directed album, one that seeks to look forward into the future while staying grounded in the past.

Since then Michael has released a folk electronica based album titled "Here Comes the Night" (2017) which is a unique exploration into the electronica / folk universe that clearly shows Michael's diverse skills as an artist as he combines his search for truth and his progressive music talents to produce a very unique album. The album was written, recorded, mixed, produced, and mastered by Michael Mazochi. ~ Favorite track: "Watching the Lines"

Rachelle van Zanten

About: Rachelle van Zanten

Rachelle van Zanten is back with her third full-length album, "Oh Mother". Known for her powerful live performances and equally powerful social activism, the acclaimed Canadian slide guitarist/singer pulls no punches on this record. Produced by multiple award-winner Joby Baker (The Cowboy Junkies, Alex Cuba, Mae Moore), the album showcases van Zanten's skills as a guitarist and songwriter in equal measure. "Oh Mother" blends van Zanten's socially conscious lyrics with dirty guitar riffs and soulful singing in a way that neatly captures the essence of her northern British Columbia origins...as well as all the issues the region currently faces. "Rachelle van Zanten is our voice, the muse of the North. She writes songs to inspire the wind, give voice to thunder, and fire the hearts of all those fighting to protect the land she loves so dearly."- Wade Davis, National Geographic

The 11 tunes on the album are an intense mix of van Zanten's deep connection to the landscapes of northern BC and her own personal stories of loss, grief, and joy. "Van Zanten juxtaposes her gutsy guitar playing with very personal and introspective lyrics." (Guitar Player Magazine)

These stories of new motherhood, loss, and landscape are captured not only in her raw, moving lyrics, but also in her intricate guitar riffs and intoxicating vocal melodies.

The 19 year internationally acclaimed road warrior is now in the process of creating a children's album. Look for this album come spring 2015.

Request "I Fight For Life" on radio or purchase the track online and van Zanten will donate all royalties to Skeena Watershed Conservation Coalition Kids Camps.

Tired Pony

About: Tired Pony

Tired Pony is a music supergroup consisting of Gary Lightbody, Richard Colburn, Iain Archer, Jacknife Lee, Peter Buck, Scott McCaughey and Troy Stewart. Lightbody formed the group out of his appreciation for country music, and has during the early planning phase described the group's music once as "country-tinged" but explained later that in the end the album's development turned out much more to Americana than country during the whole creative process in the studio. The group visited Portland, Oregon in January 2010 to record this debut album, which was produced by member Lee; The Place We Ran From was released on 12 July 2010. Tired Pony began recording their second album "The Ghost of the Mountain" on February 19th 2013, and will be released on August 19, 2013

History:

Tired Pony was formed by Gary Lightbody (of Snow Patrol), who had a "long-term ambition" of making a country album. He revealed the project's existence in May 2009. In the interview, he expressed his love for country music, which he said he had loved for a long time: "I always thought I had a country album in me and it turns out I did." The rest of Snow Patrol expressed excitement for their band-mate, "delighted that [Lightbody was] getting to exercise all his crazy ideas." In October 2009, Lightbody in his blog on Snow Patrol's website revealed the members of the group to be Richard Colburn (of Belle & Sebastian), Iain Archer, singer Miriam Kaufmann (Archer's wife), and Jacknife Lee. He talked about two more members whom he was very excited about, but didn't name them. He also stated that the album won't be country as was being reported, but would be "country-tinged". In January 2010, Hot Press reported Peter Buck (of R.E.M.) to be a member of the group. Lightbody described Buck as one of his "all-time heroes" and admired his talent for playing a variety of instruments. Lightbody looks at the project as something he has "wanted to get out of [his] system", and said that "[he doesn't] know whether people will dig it or not.". About the album he furthermore said he wanted to write a twisted love-letter to the States.

Tired Pony played their first ever live show at London's Forum venue in Kentish Town on July 14, 2010 and were joined on stage by 2009 Mercury Music Prize nominee Lisa Hannigan who stepped in for Zooey Deschanel on song "Get On The Road". Editors singer Tom Smith also joined the group on stage.

On September 30, 2010, Tired Pony appeared on the Late Show with David Letterman, performing "Dead American Writers" from their album, The Place We Ran From. "Get on the road" was also featured on Showtime drama "Shameless" at the end of "Just Like the Pilgrims Intended" episode.

Matt Haeck

About: Matt Haeck

Matt Haeck keeps an ear studiously and respectfully trained on those men and women, both living and long dead, who give us our rich heritage of American music. Matt has lived in every major region of America, but he and his music have made their way to Nashville. He comfortably assimilates northern soul, west coast harmonies, east coast pop and Midwest rock into his brand of southern Americana. The stories these places tell combine with influences from Wilco and Stephen Foster to Cormac McCarthy and the Old Testament to form the substance of Matt's songs.

Western States

In January of 2010 Matt released his EP,
Western States. The seven songs on the album explore thoughts of running, loving, losing, and longing. "The EP's lyrical content and musical fluidity make it timeless and make Matt Haeck one of the finest up-and-comers making music these days." (thisismodern.net)

Late Bloomer

Late Bloomer was recorded in 5 straight days in October, 2014. It was graciously funded by 177 beautiful humans. The songs contained in this album came from a four year struggle through a deep darkness and the light on the other side. I hope these sounds do you some good.

Albums:

Pair of Sirens, 2008
Western States, 2010

Works Progress Administration (WPA)

About: Works Progress Administration (WPA)

Works Progress Administration takes its name from FDR’s 1939 New Deal initiative, which put millions to work making buildings, bridges, theater, art and music. The original WPA was rooted in the values of community and creativity, and helped to keep the fire of human dignity burning through the darkest years of the Great Imposters.

WPA was born out of the musical community surrounding the legendary LA club, Largo. The members of the band had known and admired each other for years, and found themselves with a strong batch of unrecorded songs, a little down time, and a collective feeling that it might be a good idea to put something on tape.

After a chance meeting between Sean and Grammy winning recording engineer Jim Scott, the group found themselves in Scott’s studio, Plyrz, recording 17 songs live in five days. With an album mixed and mastered, the band hadn’t even chosen a name or secured management. In an era where the expectation is that a group of this experience and caliber would be something conceived by business executives, WPA came out of an authentic and vibrant musical community, and the album is a beautiful reflection of its origins.

The instant classic “Always Have My Love”, penned and sung by Glen Phillips, starts the album with a powerful dose of dual fiddles, pedal steel and piano, revealing the band’s palette from the first bar. The album continues with five more Phillips songs, plaintive and introspective tunes from Sean Watkins (“Not Sure”, “Paralyzed” and “You’re Already Gone”), commanding vocals performed by Luke Bulla on “Who’s Gonna Cry For You” and “Remember Well”, and the haunting voice of Sara Watkins on Benmont Tench’s “The Price” and the Ray Davies classic “I Go To Sleep”. Despite having four lead singers and a high level of instrumental prowess the band keeps its focus in service to the song, and creates a sound that is both timeless and unique.

Now, with a wonderful record reminiscent of “more than the sum of its parts” groups such as Fleetwood Mac, The Band, and CSNY, the founding members of WPA (Glen, Luke, and Sean) are rallying the troops for a cross-country excursion. Given that the heart of this band is found in its collective spirit, if one of the Executive Board is required at his “day job”, it’s looked at as an opportunity, not a problem. The network of talent surrounding these eight players is deep and varied, and changes in the tour lineup will provide new opportunities for collaboration and exploration, insuring that each show is a unique and inspiring event.

In this time when the collective spirit is once again in need, WPA looks forward to serving you in your community.

The Dirt Daubers

About: The Dirt Daubers

The Dirt Daubers have come down from the mountains and landed squarely in the middle of the Mississippi Delta. Yes, you heard right... J.D. Wilkes (of the Legendary Shack Shakers) and his former Old-Time band have decided to plug in (!) to both his blues roots and a regulation, A.C. power socket.

Having recently added electric guitar and drums, the Dirt Daubers are now poised to expand the appeal of their roots-based tunes with a whole new Swamp-Blues/Rock n Roll kick!

But for those missing the old, acoustic sound, an unplugged version of the new band is available for booking too.

INTL

About: The Young International

Familiar but foreign. The Young INTL is like nothing you’ve ever heard, like you’ve never heard it before.

Six years ago 4 college students began playing music together in a 2 bedroom apartment. They knew there was nothing new under the sun but decide to spend their days chasing it together.

Constantly honing their craft, members Kaleb Jones, Chase Gregory, Thomas Doeve and David Deaton have forged their names in the Nashville music scene and beyond with their lush soundscapes, soaring and hauntingly emotional vocals and intoxicating rhythms.

After years of writing and releasing songs, producing records, touring the United States and even appearing on a national television show, The Young INTL are primed and ready to take their music to the next level and beyond.

The Band is now called "INTL" and are on Hiatus.
