Rock could hardly be just music. It is a range of creative
disciplines and outlets. It's music, of course but it's also interpreting, role
playing, and thus theater and poetry too. Rock is the perfect medium to
intertwine the two true sources of art: The dionisian and the apollinean. What
is inebriating, and what is dream-like. When rock is played and interpreted,
when musicians don't play or sing, but recite, rock is more than music, it is
the ultimate form of art.
Rock is our legacy as Europeans, our outlet to give an
escape valve to the most primary of our creative urges. Rock twists you with
pain and passions. A relatively new ritual, but that reflects the basic
elements of the Greek tragedy.
And it is art that is the ultimate objective of our
existence, here and now, the noblest way to express what's on our souls. Sacred
ritual and self-realization.
Hurricane Heart
Attacks were born in Posadas, Misiones Argentina, in an afternoon of 45 ° C in
the shade. Brothers Jack and Charly Hurricane, one living in the ever turbulent
and excited Capital Federal and the other in the Posadas of eternal naps and
calm were destined to bring the Sun. They began composing their first songs,
which were influenced spiritually by the Californian bands The Brian Jonestown
Massacre and The Warlocks, whose song "Hurricane Heart Attack" serves
as the baptismal name for this project.
Hurricane Heart
Attacks first recording, “Summer” was self produced, managed independently and
released in September 2010. The Summer EP expresses their influences in folk and
psychedelic sounds which are mixed with littoral creating new soundscapes and
infinite horizons full of distant voices, reverberant acoustic / electric
guitars, tambourine rattles and legüero hype. Shortly after their debut EP, Hurricane Heart Attack began work on their
first full length release titled “Hurricane Love”. With the help of several
friends, the band began to take on a deeper complex sound full of colour. A sea
of electric guitars, six & twelve string acoustics, all meld with the sounds
of the Farfisa organ that brings to mind earlier days freedom, mystery and
wonder. The journey begins. 2012 saw the band take off at numerous festivals throughout Argentina with
local radio stations picking up their wave of music and in July of the same year, “Hurricane
Love” was released (SDG039) under the label “Sadness Discos Group”.
Hurricane Heart Attacks have been in the studio
producing songs for their upcoming album. ~ 2013
Wheat Fields is a Psychedelic group based in the Blue

date and are certainly destined for greater things.
Saturnalia: Released 07 May 2013
Saturnalia was the name of a pagan celebration held in
December in ancient Rome, honouring the god Saturn. Likewise, this EP was
conceived during a December camping trip on the north coast of NSW; a group of
under-20 year old friends with tents at the beach consuming fruit and
psychedelics amongst goannas and dingoes.
The second phase of ‘Saturnalia’ began in January 2013. A studio, ‘Shabby
Road’, was created in core member Josch Dinjar’s living room, and quickly
recording began, punctuated by nude swims and coffee. In DIY spirit, it
incorporated MP3 players, strange stereo systems found in sheds, old tape
decks, mysteriously customised effect pedals, and mixing techniques that the
band virtually ‘made up’. It all makes for one layered, luscious, nostalgic
listen.
Composers - Mitch Hunter (Guitars, Bass, Vocals, Synths),
Zak Baillie (Guitars, Bass), and Josch Dinjar (Guitars, Drums, Bass,
Production).
Live Members - Maddie Harriott (Vocals, Percussion), Glenn Hopper (Organ,
Piano, Synth), additional drumming by Harley Dorrell.

Released June 6th, 2012
Seventh Epic is a
rock/electronic band based in Charlotte, NC. The band is made up of Josh Queen
on electric guitar, Shawna Ohm on keys and synths, Garrett Ohm on drums, and
Sarah Queen on bass and lead vocals. The band performs regularly in the
Charlotte area and surrounding region and has just released their second
full-length album, "The Robots Are Dreaming Again.” Seventh Epic offers an
energetic live show with charm and creativity. Their heavy use of synths and
unconventional song structure pulls them into progressive rock, but the catchy
songs wouldn’t let you know it. They take the crowds for a ride through heart
pounding hard rock and wide open electronic spaces, then down for a smooth
landing in an orchestrated saga.
The Search appeared on the
Swedish independent music scene in 2000. Their first full-length album, the
eponymous The Search, was an original take on the lush, atmospheric sounds of
80’s pop and post punk. The album was distributed by Red Sun Records and ended
up as No.1 on their best sales chart for almost 3 months. A European tour
followed with live gigs in the U.K., Germany, Holland, and Denmark.
In 2006, the EP compilation
Bloodbathe/Bazaar of Lush Loose Limbs was released, a record which saw the band
stretching the somewhat dark sonic landscapes of their earlier recordings into
new territory. This was followed by a year spent working on their 3rd album,
Deranged Minds Unite, which was released by Lonaly Records and had a lighter,
more lo-fi sound than previous recordings.
The Search started recoding the
album Saturnine Songs in early 2007. Partly produced by Kristofer Jönson of
Jeniferever, the record was flavoured with organic elements and post-rock
instrumentation. Following its release in April, 2008, the album contributed to
an increased interest in the band abroad. Saturnine Songs, along with earlier
recordings, was released in digital form by Afmusic, and distributed by Danse
Macabre. The albums are also available on Spotify. The band have toured Europe
in intervals, with gigs ranging from arty Dutch pop venues to British indie
clubs, while at times playing somewhat “darker” scenes like the Wave Gotik
Treffen in Leipzig in 2009.
A new album is in the making and
is scheduled for release In August, 2010. Tour dates will be booked by the
band’s agents in the respective countries and updated continuously on this
website. As the ongoing recording process has taken up most of the band’s time
of late, promoting the upcoming album is the band’s main priority in 2010.
Members:
Per Tholander – Drums
Viktor Thylwe – Bass
Razmig Tekeyan – Guitar, vocals
MORE ABOUT THE SEARCH / THE
SILVERSLUT
In 1999, a group of teenagers
found their musical paths crossing each other. Johan Zeitler, Jonathan Nilsson,
Tina Bergström, Tomas Svahn, Joakim Jacobsson and Razmig Tekeyan founded The
Silverslut in Uppsala, Sweden. The Silverslut recorded 6 EPs through 99-01, now
available as the downloadable compilation The Silverslut. Before the 6th EP
Jonathan Nilsson resigned from the band and after a short stint with various
drum machines, Per holander took over Jonathans place behind the drums.
In 2003 The Silverslut changed
their name into The Search and released their first full-length album, The
Search in 2004 which was highly praised by the people who heard it, especially
in Holland. It was distributed by Red Sun Records and ended up as No.1 on their
best sales chart for almost 3 months.
In 2005 The Search played their
first live shows outside Sweden, in the UK, Holland and Denmark. In 2006 the
compilation of the two EPs Blood Bathe / Bazaar of Lush Loose Limbs was
released.
2006 was mostly spent working on
their 3rd album Deranged Minds Unite, which is the last album with Per on drums
and Tina on keyboards. Instead, Per founded his own record label Lonaly Records
where he released Deranged Minds Unite in March 2007.
Viktor Hedefalk replaced Per in
early 2007 and the band started the recording process of Saturnine Songs. The
album was completed in September and the first single, Distant, will be
available as a CD and free-download on iTunes on March 31, 2008. In the end of
April, 2008, the album will be released by netlabel afmusic, in digital form as
a free download, and the CD will hit the shelves of Germany on May 16, 2008. It
will be distributed by Danse Macabre / AL!VE.
Raised between two potato fields on Prince Edward Island, Ashley Condon is
the grandchild of Bill Leblanc, a Canadian country pioneer who once spent the
night in jail with Hank Snow. Like pecan pie – sweet and nutty – Ashley has won
audiences over with her larger-than-life stage presence and down-to-earth
charm. Growing up on everything from old-time country to folk, blues and soul,
her music resonates.
The success of her 2007 EP I’ve Got This Feeling garnered the attention of
Ontario native and ECMA-nominated producer and musician Joel Hunt (Teresa
Ennis, Old Man Leudecke). The two joined creative forces for Ashley’s debut,
full-length album Come In From The Cold, released on June 15, 2010. Since its release
in 2010, Come In From The Cold has been nominated for a 2011 Canadian Folk
Music Award, a 2011 East Coast Music Award and has earned the rising star two
2012 Music PEI Awards for “New Artist Of The Year” and the “Lynn Grishko
Memorial Bursary”. Her highly anticipated sophomore album This Great Compromise
is set for release on May 28th, 2013 and was produced by Condon’s songwriting
hero; three-time JUNO award winning singer-songwriter David Francey . Condon is
backed on the album by Francey’s touring band of Chris Coole (banjo, guitar)
and Mark Westberg (guitar), John Showman (fiddle) and by celebrated Maritime
multi-instrumentalist Darren McMullen.
The signature track on her Francey-produced sophomore album, This Great
Compromise, is “Betty’s Song,” a tribute to Condon’s mother and a wistful
lament over Condon’s inability, as a teenager to appreciate her mother’s
strength and perseverance. Other highlights include “Gentle Man,” a haunting
number about an encounter with a stranger; “We’ve Got Love,” a simple love song
with a very Francey-like sing-along chorus; “I’m Going Home, Amen,” a
rollicking gospel song about moving back to PEI; and the title track, a
sophisticated statement about the impact on relationships when partners must
leave the province for work.
Having lost both her parents by the age of 22, it is not surprising that
Condon’s music is marked by an astonishing degree of maturity and nuance – the
kind almost never heard in emerging artists. She has established a reputation
in the Maritimes as a powerful writer and singer and an uncommonly-talented
entertainer who jokes and tells stories to audiences as naturally as if they
were guests in her living room.
Ashley will be doing a national tour of Canada in fall 2013 to support her
new album and is playing several Canadian folk festivals this summer including
The Stan Rogers Folk Festival, The Lunenburg Folk Harbour Festival and The
Shelter Valley Folk Festival.
